The picture above is taken from the Guardian newspaper as a reference to someone’s addiction to instagram. The full article can be found at the Guardian
However to summarise it – the lady in the article is basically saying that due to trying to take a picture or a video of literally every amazing thing she did to SHOW OTHER PEOPLE, made her MISS the fact that she was actually experiencing the very thing she was doing HERSELF!!!
Another article in the guardian today ALSO revealed that very posh hotels in locations abroad are starting to get annoyed with ‘influencers’ setting up their ring lights and cameras to show off about the location. The very fact that they are there is “ruining the ambience and privacy of the other guests” – so the hotels are starting to have set hours where filming is now BANNED!
This is happening at other places that are seen to be cool too – I saw a farm shop fed up with it too and have also put in a BAN between certain hours
This makes total sense – if you have spent a lot of money – especially on a fancy hotel in another country, the last thing you want is to be captured in the back of a video in your bikini or having the influencers ‘sing song’ voice with ring lights all around you like a paparazzi.
It’s supposed to be a calm relaxing and private holiday
I support these bans!
It reminds me of all the times I have been to a music concert and basically watched it through my phone as I wanted to post it online to others afterwards….. I basically missed it all as I watched it on a flipping screen
Another confirmation that I should continue to GIVE UP as other people are seriously annoyed by the addition too…..
